L’Oréal Pure Clay Detox Mask | Worth The Hype? No, It’s Not.

After seeing these face masks sweep through social media, I had to give them a go. Every single person that had tried them seemed to rave about how amazing they are, I was instantly sucked in.

They have 3 types of masks available, Detox, Brighten and Purify. I decided to go with Detox as blackheads are one of the hardest things to shift off my face and hoped this would help.

I picked this up from Tesco for £8 for a 50ml jar (which says 10 uses but you get a whole lot more) but pretty sure you can pick it up cheaper elsewhere. This masks claims that skin is purer and clearer after just one use. After a week skin should feel fresher and look more luminous and use after use skin can breathe and is visibly transformed. I call bullshit.

I’ve been using this for 3 times a week for over 2 weeks now and if anything my skin is worse. I’ve got breakouts which I hardly ever suffer from and my skin just doesn’t look great. The blackheads are still there in all their glory, I’m just so disappointed! My makeup isn’t sitting as nice as it did a few weeks ago (my skin literally looked photoshopped in real life, I’ll be sharing my skincare products soon as to how) and now my makeup looks a little cakey and dry.

I’ll carry on using to see if it magically works for me but for now my verdict is this product is just over hyped.

Has anyone else tried this? What did you think?
Thanks so much for reading!

  1. Awww too bad it doesn’t work for you….everyone’s skin is so different. hopefully you’ll find another mask that will work. This mask works pretty well for me but I am bothered by the scent. I feel like it has a really strong chemical scent but other than that, I like it.

  2. I was so close to buying this the other day as it’s on sale in Superdrug! Might still give it a go and see if it does anything for my skin – highly doubt it though, my skin is horrendous and there’s no saving it!

  3. Brilliant post. I too have seen this everywhere. But decided not to purchase as I think it’s most likely to be all hype. If you are looking for a great ‘detox’ mask. I would highly recommend the Sanctuary Spa Thermal Detox Mask. It’s amazing. Xx

  4. Oh wow, thank you for sharing. For me it works well, and my boyfriend also uses it… It doesn’t do miracles of course. I still prefer using a good old nose patch to remove black heads… But I do find that this leaves my skin very soft. xoxo Sarah
