£6 Lip Kits From Makeup Revolution | Review & Lip Swatches

Makeup Revolution are again killing it with the dupes! I don’t own a Kylie Lip Kit so I don’t have anything to compare it to other than just reviewing the product for what it is. I don’t think these are officially out yet, I know some Superdrugs’ have stocked them early, which is why I have them but  I’m pretty sure they’ll be officially launched within the next few days or so.

img_20170115_195529_372Anyway, I’d seen some sneak peeks of these and couldn’t wait to get my hands on them. My Superdrug is usually quite shit when it comes to new releases, they take at least a couple of weeks to a month to stock new products but I guess I got lucky this time! I think there are around 4/5 shades to get (and they’re also releasing Metallic ones too which I cannot wait for!) but my Superdrug only had 3 in which include a lip liner and a liquid lipstick. I’d been eyeing up the brown, Glory and also drifted towards Noble which looked like an orange toned nude. The other shade (not sure on the name) seemed like a bright pink shade so I steered away from that one.

Lets crack on with my favourite, Glory. I bloody love this shade so much! You all know I love my bold, dark lips so I had to get this as I don’t yet own a brown liquid lipstick. The formula for this one is a little tricky, you definitely need the lip liner with it. On its own it’s very hard to get a clean line and if you pat your lips together then it removes colour off the bottom lip. With the lip liner, this doesn’t seem to happen and you can get a much cleaner line. The finish is very matte and if you have dry lips make sure you heavily moisturise before applying. In terms off lasting power, its great and doesn’t budge except for eating (I’ve yet to come across as liquid lipstick that doesn’t budge when eating, any recommendations?). I’m in love and have found my new go to shade!

Next we have Noble. A gorgeous orange toned Nude. The formula with this is a lot better than with Glory. You can pat your lips together without product moving but it is a little sticky when using the lip liner underneath. The finish is fully matte and practically kiss proof but it does leave a tiny bit of something because of the stickiness. There is a little shade difference between the lip liner and lipstick with this one. The lip liner is very orange whereas the lipstick is a little less orange toned and also a little darker. Putting the lipstick on top of the lip liner will give you a lighter colour but on it’s own it’s a little darker and more mauve/orange.

Overall there are a few cons but for £6, really can’t go wrong. Since getting Glory, I’ve literally just wanted to live in it!

Thanks so much for reading!

  1. I can see why you love Glory, it really suits you & is totally gorgeous. I’m not so keen on matte liquid lipsticks but I may see what the other colours are like, there’s always time to change my mind.
