5 Makeup Products Under £5

I think people under-estimate the drugstore way to much. With most popular YouTubers it’s not too common for them to mention the drugstore too much, unless getting sponsored (or Tati, she’s does amazing with mixing drugstore & high end). Last year and this year I think drugstore have stepped up their game big time, they’ve released some amazing products. So I thought I would share some of my favourite products you can get for under a fiver.

This gives the perfect amount of volume (the good clumpy kind) and can make you look like you have false eyelashes on. I’ve tried everybody’s favourite, Maybelline Lash Sensational and it couldn’t live up to this at all. This is my holy grail mascara.

These shouldn’t be a surprise to anybody. Sleek Matte Me Lip Creams. They’re just perfection and incredible value for £4.99. They do the most amazing colour range (I’ll be picking some more up this week so get ready for a tiny haul), there’s something to suit everyone. They’re not overly drying and so far one of the only liquid lipsticks at the drugstore that are budge proof matte.

Another one that probably not a surprise to anyone are the BarryM Strobe Creams. These are just perfection in a stick. for £4.49 you all need to snatch them up. I’ve not stopped wearing them since receiving them, I cannot get enough. These give the most gorgeous natural glow, whilst still being noticeable. They sit on the skin beautifully! I really have used these every single day and I’m still not bored yet!

But that doesn’t mean it’s not a bad lip balm and in fact it is one of the best I’ve tried. It soaks into the lips pretty much straight away, it’s the furthest from sticky you’ll ever get, it’s so comfortable to wear and is the perfect way to prime the lips for matte lipstick. It’s only £2.95 to buy and now couldn’t be without it.

Last up is the Primark (Ps…) Contour Sticks. I think these are one of my best drugstore discoveries this year. I really was expecting them to suck but they’re the best cream contour product I’ve tried (including high end and even my beloved Clinique Chubby Stick). They’re sooooo pigmented but blend like an absolute dream. It’s £3.00 for the pack, i only use the middle shade to contour (I do use the highlight product to sharpen my brows but it’s too dark for highlight for me) so I really paid £3.00 for one stick but I tell you what, I’d pay £20 for it! Can’t recommend enough.

And that’s it guys! Hope you’re all well and enjoying the little sunshine we’re having! I decided to not be a vampire this year and venture out into the sunshine and now have terrible sunburn on my back and shoulders. Last year I’ll be doing that haha.

Thanks so much for reading!

  1. I’ve always had my eyes on any Sleek products but we don’t have it in store in the U.S, I know I can order online but I just need to see it up close though.

    1. Exactly, I think it’s nice to always have a mix to suit all viewers. There’s a lot of YouTubers I stopped watching for this reason. I don’t mind the occasional splurge but with having a son I can always put my money to better use than spending every penny on high end makeup!

      1. Haha just don’t go for the wing look right off the bat! It’s under $4, it’s definitely worth a try.

  2. I’m quite shocked I’ve never tried any of these things! I mainly buy drugstore products and I definitely agree that they are underrated and under publicised (but I love Tati’s YT!) so I’m so happy you’ve brought these products to our attention! I love finding little gems, thank you! 💜

      1. Yeah I know! People just having high end are blind haha! I haven’t tried a lot of high end makeup, I only tend to buy high end eye shadow palettes, too faced, urban decay etc but other than that, it’s high street all the way for me!!
