Artis Brush Dupes, Are They Any Good?

These brushes have taken over the beauty community! I remember seeing them first released and a lot of people we’re making fun of them and calling them toothbrushes! Now look where we are, everyone wants one! Me included. But for an Artis brush you’re looking at being set back arround £40 to £50, which is a lot of cash for one brush alone. I’ve had my eye on the dupes for quite a while but always just forgot about them as I do have too many brushes for one person already. But when i was contacted by My Makeup Brush Set to review some of their brushes, how could i say no?!

I was sent the 10 Piece Oval Brush set which is currently on sale for £19.99, down from £355! They are a US based company and do ship worldwide (not always free though).

Are they even any good? They’re okay. The foundation brush, i hate. It really bums me out to say that because that was the one i was most looking forward to trying. But it leaves streaks and the foundation just doesnt sit right when using this. I’ve had to take it off everytime I’ve used this brush. I’ve also read similar things from other customers.

The rest are okay, i did recieve a few that was a little crushed as the brushes came in a drawstring bag rather than a box but nearly all of them were fine. The smaller face brushes i do love, they blend contour and concealer amazingly! The little rounded ones are probably best for inner corner highlight (i couldn’t really find a use for these as they’re too hard for a blending brush). I use the little flat ones for nose contour and lower line shadow. These have become part of my daily routine and always find myself gravitating towards them, i definitley reccommed giving them a try! The handles on the bigger bruhes do scare me a little as they are quite thin and flexible and they do bend back quite a bit during application.

I do have a few concerns regarding the company though. They say they’re american based but my package came from China. You can also find these exact brushes on eBay(link here) for a lot less and free shipping(from China). I know some companies do this and thats fine (if they’re honest about it) but marking the price upto £355 is a complete rip off. I hope that the sale price is just a way to get sales and they stay that price permanantly because that’s just crazy if the price does go back up. I’ve always prided myself on being an honest blogger and i wouldn’t want anybody ripped off. I’ve also come across some Instagram comments about not reciving their packages and not being able to get in touch with customer service, so just keep your eyes out if you are going to purchase.

Overall, i do really like these brushes and will contine to use them!

Thanks so much for reading!

  1. I’m one of those people that’s been really negative about these brushes until just a few days ago. I forgot my foundation brush and used my friends, one of the oval ones and I must admit, I really like them and my make up looked good that day!

  2. Thank you so much for your honesty! I think I should probably wait and build up my brush collection before I get any of these though. What normal brush brands would you recommend? I’m always scared to buy a set of brushes because it’s expensive and don’t want to discover I don’t like them! x

    1. I’d recommend either real techniques or Eco Tools, if you gave a look in tkmaxx you can get them even cheaper but they’re all cheap anyway! I don’t think you need to spend a massive amount on brushes anymore, so many budget brands have come out with some amazing brushes. Back in the day Mac was really all people used!

  3. I’ve heard about the brush stroke problem with the foundation brush a few times, I think the only way to sort it out is just to pat the brush over where the lines are and they should disappear? Although, that is kind of annoying and £355 is an absolute rip off! I’ve seen those ones on Ebay and I think I’m going to try them out 🙂 x
