Mini Haul Update – The Reviews

So it’s been a little while since I’ve purchased these products and I’ve had a good play around with them. Most of them I really do like but they all have their pros and cons, so lets get stuck in.

Starting off with one of my favourite products out of the bunch, the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour. The shades are all stunning but my favourite is Passion. It’s the most stunning red, a little darker than your typical bright red, it’s absolutely gorgeous and this is the one I’ve gravitated towards more than anything else I’ve purchased. The formula for these are okay, they definitely take a while to matte down (sometimes they don’t at all) but they are surprisingly long lasting and not drying. The smell first off made me feel sick, as YouTuber Tati described the scent as chemical fruit, I completely agree but the more I’ve worn it, the more I start to like it! Anyway, I really recommend these, it’s just a shame they’re not more matte.

Next is the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Collection in Nude Flash. After reading all your guys comments you all seemed to rate this more than all the other products so I was super excited to give this a go! I have used it a few times and I have to say I’m pretty impressed. It’s completely matte, smells lovely and doesn’t dry the lips. It’s not incredibly long lasting if you plan on eating or drinking but reapplying isn’t an issue. The colour doesn’t suit me terribly well, I do put a darker lip liner on underneath just to make it a little less vivid (I know, it’s meant to be vivid but it just doesn’t suit me!)

I really wanted to like this product but it just doesn’t work for me so far. I’m not giving up on it yet but meh, I just don’t like it. I think if your brows are pretty much the shape you want them and you like a natural look rather than a sharp, defined brow this product is for you. But for me, my brows are straight. I have to draw the top of my arch on my skin and this product doesn’t sit well. I’ve tried using a brow brush to create sharp lines and that just did not go well. If it wasn’t for my arches I would love this product as I like my brows looking natural but because of my arch it doesn’t work for me.

Another lip product now, this time from GOSH. This is in the shade Matte Rose from their Velvet Touch Collection. This is amazing. The colour is stunning, it smells incredible and it’s long lasting. It’s truly matte too, which always makes me happy. Couldn’t recommend this enough.

The last lip product is Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet Lacquer in Rebel. This colour is truly perfection and perfect for any time of the year. This only cost £3 so I wasn’t expecting much and in all honesty it’s not the best. It is quite drying but does dry down to a proper matte finish. The thing I find strange with this is it’s more difficult to remove with makeup remover than is it to wipe it off with a dry finger or dry loo roll. It’s very strange. I don’t recommend removing it that way as it can’t be great for your lips but it is easier. Overall for £3 it’s not bad at all and I definitely will be wearing it a lot.

Last product is Makeup Revolution Flawless Matte Palette. I adore this palette. Although the eyeshadows are a little messy when getting the product loaded on the brush, they blend like a dream, there’s no fallout and they’re so smooth. There’s no patchiness and the you can create so many looks with this beauty. Worth it’s money and more!

Thanks for reading, are there any blog posts you’d like to see at all? Let me know!

    1. Thanks darlin! And the lighter shades in this particular palette aren’t the best pigment wise (their other palettes are better) but the rest are great! They’re not on the same level as high end but they’re great for the price 🙂

      1. I’d steer clear of their £4 palettes, but MUA Cosmetics do some amazing £4 palettes with incredible formulas. From makeup revolution I’d stick to their Iconic Pro palettes but it’d be worth checking out Freedom Makeup (their sister company), they’re around the same price as Makeup Revolution but they are designed for Makeup Artists. I picked up a pro palette of theirs a while back, the link is here if you want to check out the swatches and it’s incredible. The matte shadows are comparable to Loracs Pro matte palette. ❤ hope this helps! ❤

  1. Love the sound of the gosh lipstick, but is it moisturising enough? Like does it make your lips dry and cracky? I struggle so much with matte lipsticks and prefer an actual lipstick to liquid formulas. Wasted so much money on trying too and still haven’t found the one x
