I can’t believe it’s 2016 already! Happy New Year guys, hope you had a great night and don’t have a sore head this morning!
This year has definitely been a drugstore year for me, they’ve heavily outweighed any high end product.
This year I think Makeup Revolution took the English drugstore world by storm! They’re an amazing brand, such great quality for crazy low prices. My most used product from them is the Ultra Sculpt Contour kit. The Contour shade us just perfect, blends easy and doesn’t look orange or dirty in the slightest. I haven’t used the Blush shade but the highlight shade is also gorgeous. I use both on a daily basis.
Next from Makeup Revolution is their Golden Sugar blush palette. This is just a stunning palette and very versatile. They have a contour shade and the rest are blushers and highlights. It’s just perfection in a blush palette!
Next up is my favourite foundation, L’Oréal True Match. I’ve not come across a better foundation yet, even high end ones. This stays put all day, matches my skin perfectly and looks flawless. It can also be quite cheap if you come across an offer, I usually pick it up if it’s 2 for £12, they’re usually 10/11 quid a bottle so it’s a bargain! Never changing from this foundation, my absolute staple.
It was very hard for me not to put more MUA makeup in this post but my stand out product is their Colour Corrector in Lilac. I use this for brightening under the eyes and the bridge of my nose rather than using a heavy highlighter when contouring. A little goes a long way too, it’ll take a good while to get through the little palette.
For your makeup to look perfect you have to have perfect tools to apply it. My Eliimo Perfecting Finish Sponge has been my go to since I won it. I’m in need of a repurchase but this has lasted me at least half a year (I think more) and still works perfectly now. It gives the most airbrushed finish and makes your skin look flawless.
Now this one surprised me most of all, Makeup Gallery blush in Soft Blush 2. It’s the poundshops own brand and I have been using this every single day since I’ve got it. It’s such a gorgeous colour and just gives you a gorgeous flush of colour. And I’ve barley even scratched the surface of the blush, even with daily use. One of my absolute favourites.
This won’t come as a surprise to any of you but I had to include my Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream in Birthday Suit. I’ve been obsessed with this product since I purchased it and I think I’ll be needing a new one soon! It stays all day, doesn’t flake and is the perfect nude.
A recently new addition to the lip family is the BarryM Matte Me Up Lip Crayon in 3. I love this! It literally doesn’t move all day, doesn’t dry the lips out in the slightest and is such a gorgeous nude. I’ve had it for a month or so I think and I’m almost ready for a new one. Such an amazing formula, you can easily reapply it as well it doesn’t go all weird on the lips, it’s the perfect Matte lip product.
Last up is the Essence Lash Princess. I haven’t used a single different mascara since I received this. It gives such amazing volume, no clumping and it’s only £2.30. I can’t believe it! I’d happily pay £20 for this, it’s the most amazing mascara I’ve ever used! It’s definitely cheap enough to try so next time you see it guys, pick it up!
That’s it! Like I said drugstore have definitely ruled my makeup collection this year (which my bank account also loves), I think they’ve definitely stepped up their game! Can’t wait to see what they bring out this year.
Just a little thank you also, to all my readers and followers! I want to thank you all for your support, I’ve worked with some amazing people and brands, some I’d have never thought possible and if it weren’t for you guys reading my posts and supporting me it wouldn’t have been possible. I’m excited to see what this year brings and I hope you’ll be here to follow my journey. And YouTube is next on my list to start too so keep your eye out! ❤
