My Handbag Essentials

These are the typical things I would carry on a daily basis when I go out. Now, do bare in mind I have a crazy 3 year old boy, so re doing my makeup is sort of kept to a minimum as I’m running around after him as he’s chasing ducks around the park!

So first off and my most important (even over makeup!) is hand sanitiser. I can’t live without this stuff. I did used to suffer with OCD quite bad, so this stuff is a necessity. It’s also a bonus when it smells as amazing as The Body Shop Strawberry Hand Cleanse Gel. Smells delicious!

Because I apply that so much, I need hand cream to keep in the moisture (hand sanitiser really is drying on the hands). I used Burts Bees Shea Butter Hand Repair Cream. Now this doesn’t smell great, but it really keeps the moisture in. And luckily the hand sanitiser overpowers the smell. But this is amazing stuff!

Keeping with the smell of things, body spray. I prefer carrying around spray over perfume because it’s a lot smaller and lighter. I’ve really come to love the Pauls Boutique collection. They have 3 scents and smell amazing. And also as summer is coming up this has a tiny bit of shimmer to give a lovely sheen to the skin.

On with the makeup! Most important to me is face powder. This is a must as it’s easy to reapply if you’re skin is looking shiny. Just remember a brush! I use the Real Techniques Contour brush for this. And recently I’ve been using the MUA Translucent Pressed Powder. If you find your makeup starts getting patchy throughout the day, I’d use a powder with coverage, to even out your makeup a little.

Lipstick! Who doesn’t leave the house without it?! This is the MUA Matte in Scarlet Siren. I’ve yet to use this, but it’s a gorgeous red & I’m a sucker for red lips.

Now, in this picture I’ve included a Bourjois eyeshadow in Light 01. But I don’t use this it’s just for the mirror. I think inner corner highlighter is far down on my essentials list! I do have a compact, but I’ve misplaced it.

So that’s it guys! ❀ hope you’ve enjoyed reading, don’t forget to follow my instagram @allthingslacquer for makeup looks & updates. ❀

  2. Lovely post, do you find that the MUA pressed powder is good? I’m head over heels for Rimmels stay matte pressed powder and have been for years but have thought of buying the MUA simply because of how cheap it is!
